To those greenkeepers who attended the federation carnival in Coffs Harbour in 2002 we were given a talk by Graham Matthews of GM Rural Training.

He spoke about the need for greenkeepers to hold a commercial operators licence for spraying pesticides. This Chemcert accreditation course was valid for 5 years and is now due for renewal. The cost of this one day course is $250.00.

WATER RESTRICTIONS

Times are tough in most of south-east Queensland and the Darling Downs areas with most local concils on level five water restrictions. For all active playing surfaces eg bowling greens, cricket wickets, football fields etc we are allowed to water one day per week.

All clubs should have submitted a wemp ( Water Efficient Management Plan ) by the 30th april 2007. There are set guidelines to follow for active playing surfaces.
